With the modules QX100 QX10 and Sony should be able to help iPhone and Co. to better images.

Smartphone cameras are getting better though, but at great lens technology, it still does not come close. The consumer electronics specialist Sony wants to break into this market gap and provides for ambitious amateur photographers aftermarket camera modules for mobile phones with iOS and Android OS. QX100 QX10 and contain everything you need for taking pictures – trigger sensor, lens and zoom rocker along with image stabilization. The technique originates from two of Sony’s own compact cameras.

With a proper free app that connection is made to the smartphone, it is wireless via WLAN. The viewfinder image is also recorded there, so you can use the phone as a remote control. Both QX100 QX10 and finished next to photos up to 20 megapixels for videos and should contain high quality image processors.
