Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Simultaneous activation of these three keys has become a reflex for several generations of PC users. But on closer look, handling, necessarily carried with both hands to unlock the computer, is not the easiest. Microsoft founder Bill Gates has an amazing mea culpa on the subject. At a conference in which he participated in a fundraiser at Harvard, the founder of Microsoft grants a “mistake” design. But blame someone else. “We could offer a button, but the person who designed the IBM keyboard would not give us our single button.”
Different uses
The Ctrl + Alt + Del has changed use as Windows versions have succeeded. Under MS-DOS, pressing keys will restart the system. Under the first Windows, it opens a dialog box to stop processes with unstable behavior, and the second time a system restart. Since Windows XP, it can interact with the program that handles the opening and closing of the session.
