Stuttgart / Frankfurt, 5 September 2013 – The first four-seater Smart was so successful that he was taken off the market after only two years. Now, the manufacturer wants to make a fresh start and, with the “Fourjoy” on the IAA (12 to 22 September 2013), a study that anticipated some of the details of a planned for late 2014 production model.
Futuristic design
The study design is inspired by the concept car Smart For-us and Forstars, which were shown at the auto shows in Detroit or in Paris in 2012. In the current study, however, missing doors, rear window and large parts of the roof – to the visitors to a clear view of the interior be possible. There, falling mainly on the futuristic seats that appear to come from one source – the chance to see them again in the standard model, we consider extremely small. Other special features include a massive instrument panel made of transparent Plexiglas and lit a spherical instrument cluster. This is reminiscent of the first Fortwo. acquaintance electric drive
tail is the electric drive of the current Smart Fortwo ed housed. The 55-kW electric motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 17.6 kWh. If this battery is empty, it can be in seven hours on a 230-volt outlet, or much faster recharge at a charging station.
